President Barack Obama filled out an NCAA tournament bracket in the white house, tabbing Louisville, North Carolina, Memphis and Pittsburgh as his Final Four selections. The Commander in Sports played it safe, avoiding any huge upsets or cinderella picks. Of his four semi-finalists, Memphis was the lone team without a number 1 ranking. His few upsets include: Virginia Commonwealth over UCLA and Temple over Arizona State, both first round 11 over 6 matchups.
College basketball analyst Andy Katz posted Obama's entire bracket on ESPN.com Wednesday morning. According to Katz, the president demonstrated impressive knowledge about the teams competing in the tournament. They discussed everything college hoops, ranging from injured players like Marquette's Dominic James to Conference tournament winners like Purdue and Mississippi State. President Obama ultimately chose North Carolina to defeat Louisville for the National Championship.
